CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
DESCRIPTION OF AUTOMATED GUIDED ELECTRIC VEHICLE
This project is create in order to
give a solution to a problem of bringing a heavy load especially when the load
need to change from one place to another place.The technology of AGV is widely
used in industrial environment to perform variety of task that involves
automation. By considering the full potentials and advantages of the Automated
Guided Electric Vehicle (AGV) in our livings, it is valuable to do this project,
as it also will be the first step towards the creation of more intelligent
technology or system. The simplest AGV model may use just a sensor to provide
its navigation.
This
vehicle is capable of transportation of material, sorting and material handling
work also handling dangerous material more efficiently with no signs of
fatigue creeping in. An AGV consists of one or more computer controlled
wheel based load carriers (normally battery powered) that runs on the plant
floor (or if outdoors on a paved area) without the need for an onboard operator
or driver. As it names was automated, this vehicle is programmed to handle
operation on its own. It can carry load far more than human workers,
and their movements can be tracked electronically at all times. Their movements
can be timed to feed or collect products or materials from the work cells in
the factories.
This Automated Guided Electric Vehicle operated
using electric power and moved by the use of electric motor. The electric motor
is connected to combination of suitable and appropriate gears, which then
further connected to the wheel of the AGVs. Through this mechanism, the AGV
will be able to move or navigate with help of appropriate control system in
order for the AGV to move correctly along path as required.
